Under the global trend of low-carbon transformation in the construction industry, green building materials, prefabricated interior components, and modular construction products have experienced significant growth in overseas orders, becoming new driving forces for the international expansion of the building materials sector. Products such as energy-efficient panels, low-VOC eco-friendly finishing materials, thermal and acoustic insulation systems, photovoltaic integrated building materials, and modular construction components align with the green building policies of many countries and are widely applied in hotels, apartments, public buildings, and affordable housing projects.
The prefabricated construction model, featuring factory production and on-site assembly, can significantly shorten construction periods and reduce construction waste. It demonstrates strong advantages in large-scale overseas projects with tight schedules. Modular construction products have already been exported to more than one hundred countries and regions worldwide. The implementation of regional economic cooperation mechanisms such as RCEP has further reduced trade costs within the region, accelerating the growth of green building materials in Southeast Asian markets. Meanwhile, demand for low-carbon and high-performance building materials continues to rise in local premium construction projects.
At the same time, overseas carbon tariffs and green certification systems are imposing higher requirements on exported products, driving the industry to accelerate product innovation and improve supporting systems related to carbon footprint assessment and environmental testing. Leveraging low-carbon technology advantages, China’s building materials industry is becoming increasingly involved in the global movement toward sustainable building development.
